Anargali

In Anargali's childhood he lost both of his parents. After that his brothers they cared for him and he was working in the agriculture field . When he was 20 years old he got this leprosy disease. After that he couldn't go to work any longer. After his brothers got married they didn't care about him any longer. Angargali also didn't get married, because no one cared about him. Also people began to say bad things to him whenever he walked on the street. Anargali shares: "I didn't have any other relatives and my brothers they didn't care about me, but now I found Jesus is my relative. Everyday and all the time I am praying to him. Everyday more than 150 times I am saying Hallejah. I feel peace in my heart".

Supramani

When Supramani was 23 he got the disease of leprosy. A year later when he was 24 he lost both of his parents. Supramani lost his parents because of some disease that was spreading through his village and they didn't have any hospital facilities. Supramani shares; "If I would have had the medical facilities I could have saved my parents. I miss them". After this Supramani got married. Six years later his wife died also, but he had two sons left. As time went by, the leprosy disease continued to spread in his body so his sons told him to leave their house. Now he doesn't have any place to go. He eats only through begging. Supramani shared with tears; "I didn't have anyone to care for me or show any love to me, but after Pastor Britto and Kathy (mother) came to me that day up until now I feel someone loves and cares about me. I feel Jesus loves me". He shared that when I go out of this hospital I don't have any house to go to".

Haniba shares; "I was working in a company and a oil pan fell on my hand causing me to loose my fingers. After that the leprosy disease began to grow in my body also. I was working in the bus stand to drive the taxi but now this disease has grown in my body so I cannot go anywhere to work any longer. I am unmarried".

Independent Church In India's goal is to buy a piece of land and build homes for these homeless lepers. They have accepted Christ into their lives and have found His peace but they are also in need of their brothers and sisters in Christ to help them to rebuild their physical lives as well. To learn more about the goals to build a leprosy colony please click here

At their own leprosy colony they will no longer have to live on the streets begging or wondering where their next meal will come. Here these lepers can lead a normal life and even work and grow their own crops for food. They can live the rest of their lives at their new home feeling wanted and without starving or begging. At their new home we can get medical provision for them and get them on a medicine that will cure their leprosy.

Look deep down inside of your heart right now and ask the Lord what He would have you do to help those with leprosy. "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?" I Jn 3:16-17

Become personally involved in this project, and help us to put a smile on the faces of those who once had no glimmer of hope by helping us to provide for them a loving Christ-like home. If the Lord leads you to help support this project please donate here. Thanks so much!

"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" Matthew 25:35-40.
