A Day of Rejoicing for the Once Forsaken...

They were very receptive to the Gospel message. We preached to them for over an hour and they ate up every word spoken to them about the love of Jesus and His salvation. Many of the longtime residents shared with us that they had not been visited by any Christian organization in all of the 30 years they had lived there!

One woman with leprosy shared, I have never seen so much happiness among the people here before!"

One man said, "We believe that God sent you to us from a far place so that we should not have to go to hell".

Today salvation had come to this colony!

Another man shared; "We feel like newborn children today; now our parents have come to see their children. We have always felt like outcasts and orphans, but now we feel like we have a family. For more than thirty years, no one has come to visit us here."

We gave out over 100 blankets to the gathered residents, who came up to receive them one by one as the colony leader called the roll. Then we distributed New Testaments, tracts, and Gospel of Mark booklets to those who could read, encouraging them to read the Scriptures to the others. The lepers were very appreciative of these gifts and told us they would gather together to pray and read their Bibles.
