Leprosy
... The
"Living Death"
. One of man's
most dreaded diseases because of its appalling effects on the victim's
body.

The
Promised Land
ICII has
long had a vision for reaching out to the homeless and desperate who
are
afflicted with leprosy.
In
2007,
the Lord provided 11 acres of land where we established a residence for
homeless leprosy victims.
Many of these
lepers had been tragically
abandoned by their families and cast out into the streets or in other
unpleasant situations because of their frightful disease. The sad
reality is that many lepers are left alone to suffer and die in their
terrible state,
heartbroken and emotionally shattered because they have no one to love
or care
for them. |
|
|
|
|
At the Promised Land,
residents receive a
loving Christian home, nutritious food, clothing, and more.
|
|

They are
taught the word of God.
|

Medical care
is provided for our leprosy friends.

Worship at the
Promised Land
Up to a hundred leprosy
victims from the area meet every
week to worship the Lord Jesus Christ and to hear the word of God in
the new church
building, named Mark’s Chapel
|

|
|
Just
constructed in the spring of 2009 on the Promised Land, this church,
named in memory of a loving supporter, is a place of worship
where everyone is welcome to come and worship Jesus, and everyone is
loved, including those afflicted by leprosy.

ICII's
Vacation Bible School on the
Promised Land!
This spring, over 300 kids, mostly from Hindu families, heard the
Gospel of Jesus Christ at our VBS, many for the first time. Each
child got a New Testament and a Gospel tract, and they were taught the
word
of God. They each also received a gift pack with
a notebook and pencil, a snack, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and more.
They took their excitement and testimonies home to their families, and
their
new Bibles and tracts, and told us that they would pray for
their Hindu parents and share about Jesus with them.

As we visit leprosy colonies, we often find
healthy but poverty-stricken children living there. These children are
trapped in a lifestyle of suffering, need, pain, and rejection because
their
parents have leprosy.
Many times, the parents can not care for the
children,
and beg us to take them to a better place.
|
Our latest
project is to build a separate
orphanage building on the property as a home for the needy children of
poverty-stricken leprosy victims who are now living in poor leprosy
colonies. You can help us provide a loving Christian home for up to 20
children!

We Need Your Help!
ICII's Leprosy Ministry needs your partnership through prayer and
financial support. You can be part of making a life-changing and
eternal difference in the lives of some of the poorest and most
desperately needy souls on earth. ICII is ministering to the needs of
many leprosy victims at our own Promised Land Community, and reaching
out with food, medicine, clothing, good water wells, teaching the Word
of God, and in lots of other ways at many other leprosy colonies in
India. For a pledge of any amount per month, you can "adopt" your own
Leprosy Colony. 100% of your tax-deductible donation to ICII's Leprosy
Ministry will go to India to meeting the needs of leprosy victims,
bringing them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you join the "Adopt A
Colony" sponosrship program, 100% of your sponsorship will go to helping
the colony or leprosy community you have adopted.

"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me
meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye
took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I
was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer
him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or
thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took
thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in
prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto
them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of
the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" -
Matthew
25:35-40.
