A Hunger and Thirst for God's Word

Afterwards they began to distribute the disaster supplies. The supplies were received very eagerly and gratefully. The team had taken mostly cleaning supplies which they had heard were badly needed because of sanitation problems.

They gave out bathing soap, detergent soap, plates, toothpaste and toothbrushes, sandals, shampoo and combs, Bibles and tracts.

Some of the people received the Bibles even more eagerly than some of the physical supplies because they were eager to read the Word of God.

"You are the only ones that came and shared this good news about Jesus to us. You are the only ones that are comforting the people spiritually. Please give me a Bible, I want to read it".

One Hindu who was present was a Sanyasi, which is a person who lives in the Hindu temple and devotes his whole life to Hinduism, spending hours each day in meditation and yoga. He shared with Pastor Britto, "You are the only ones that came and shared this good news about Jesus to us. You are the only ones that are comforting the people spiritually. Please give me a Bible, I want to read it".
