Reaching Out to Those in Desperate Need...

Another day, the Gospel team visited a remote village where there was a grandmother who was trying to provide for her two grandchildren. Her daughter had committed suicide by setting herself on fire with kerosene. After this tragic event, her husband had totally abandoned the two remaining children. This elderly grandmother could not work because of diabetes. She suffered with no medicine and no money. The children would only eat once a day because they were fed lunch at school. This family had nothing to eat. The team warmly shared the Gospel to them and they accepted the Lord with joy. Afterwards Pastor Britto and the team bought them some rice and some vegetables. Pastor Britto also felt to buy the boy some notebooks. When we took these back to them, they were so happy to see how quickly the Lord had provided for them. The nine year old boy was also very happy to receive these notebooks. The boy said that his teachers at school beat him because he did not have any notebooks. Even though he was poor and had no money, the teachers had no mercy upon the helpless boy. The cost for two notebooks and a pen was around twenty-five cents, and the twelve pounds of rice and vegetables was under two dollars. What a difference such a small amount of money can make to help a family in desperate need in India. As the Lord provides, ICII wants to be able to help those they encounter who are in desperate need in the villages, no matter what the situation, so they can continue to shine the light and love of Jesus to others.

Children's Outreaches

Each Saturday, the team conducts children's ministry, and the Lord is opening more doors to new villages. Hundreds of children each Saturday are taught songs, Bible stories, and how to pray. As ICII does the children's ministry each week, many of the adults are also coming to hear and, along with the children, are committing their lives to the Lord.
