Children Hungry to Read God's Word

One weekday they preached the Gospel at a village named Puthupatti. As the Gospel team was leaving, they saw a homeless elderly man. The team felt to give him a compassion pack containing supplies. As Pastor Britto gave the pack to him, many children that were on their lunch break from school began to gather around the Gospel team to see the love that they were showing to this man whom they knew was homeless.

After the man unzipped his pack, rather than looking through the physical supplies (which included a blanket, towel, soap, toothpaste and brush, edibles, and various other useful items), he eagerly took out the Bible and began to read it. The Gospel team was amazed because they weren't even sure that the man was capable of reading. The children curiously gathered around the homeless man to hear him read the Bible to them.

The team began to share the Gospel to the man, along with the fifty or so children who had gathered together. After the team gave an invitation to accept Christ, the homeless man and many of the children bowed their heads to receive the Lord. Afterwards, the children began begging for Bibles and promised that they would read them if they got them.

and joyful to receive Bibles and tracts.

A few weeks later, the team return and found some of the children who had begged for Bibles. This opened up the door to share the Gospel with many more children and adults, and to give out the Bibles, which were very gratefully received.
