Revival Among the Youth

Independent Church In India held a prayer outreach at both the Vadipatti and Dindigul churches for those children and youths who wanted prayer to help them study for their final exams. During March and the beginning of April are when the final exams are held for school students. April and May are the intensely hot summer vacation months. In India, the school students are very serious and diligent to study to get good grades, because they are seeking urgently to rise above the hard life that most of the village people live from day to day. In India, people are desperate to get a good education.

"Many times it is very hard to share the Gospel with youths here in the United States because of the culture we live in. But as I was preaching the Gospel to those youth in India, I could see it in their eyes that they were eating up every word that was spoken about the Lord Jesus Christ and that they were longing to receive His love and forgiveness"

... Missionary Kathy A Smith

At both ICII's churches, these outreaches were very successful. The team opened up the prayer service with music, and then the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ was preached. As the Gospel was preached, every child and youth gave their full attention to this good news of Christ's salvation, because for many of them this was the very first time they had heard the truth about Jesus. Over twenty children and youths came to the Vadipatti church and over fifty to the Dindigul service.

After the pastors and Kathy gave an altar call for everyone to turn their lives to the Lord, most every child and youth present responded to the Gospel with a serious commitment. Even though many of these youths were from a strong Hindu background, the Lord moved mightily in the services and revealed Himself to those who were lost. Afterwards, the Gospel team prayed over the youth for the Lord to help them in their studies, and for them to grow in HisWord.

During that time, there was such a wonderful presense of the Lord, as the youths bowed their heads in seriousness, calling upon the true God for salvation and help for their future life.
