This is our first special edition of Finding Lost Souls and it is dedicated to the orphanage building project. First, we want to deeply thank everyone who has been supporting the orphanage project both financially and by prayer. In March of 2005, Independent Church in India (ICII) got all the approvals that they needed to start building the orphanage.

This has been a vision of ICII for years. The pastors and their team members have been praying diligently for the Lord to enable them to build a loving home for orphans.

" It is well worth sacrificing our own comfortable lifestyle to help these children. Now we are praying that the Lord will send more people who have the same burden in their hearts. Even though a person may not physically go to India as a missionary, the Lord can use them in a mighty way right here, to pray for and support the orphanage, because without this kind of help, it would be impossible to reach out to these desperate children".

It was very heart-rending to see the hopelessness and misery on these children's faces. Each time they would see an orphan, the burden grew in their hearts to start an orphanage. The Lord provided enough funds in March to lay the foundation, and ICII has been going forward by faith since then. At the writing of this newsletter, the project has now been finished up to the lintels, which is right above the windows. In the upcoming weeks, by faith, ICII will be building the walls up to the ceiling.
|
Lowell and Kathy Smith and their children returned home to the United States right after the foundation was laid to raise funds for the rest of the project, and are planning to return to India again in the fall. The Smiths are looking for helpers in the US to get personally involved spreading the word about the work in India and to help find sponsors for the the children who will live at the orphanage.

"Because we are a small ministry, we don't have to take overhead expenses out of the orphanage donations. We are pleased to be able to make the commitment to ICII supporters that 100% of the money given for the orphanage will go directly to the orphanage project".
