Now many have found great relief by having a home again to lay their heads, instead of sleeping on the street or staying in some public place where there may be a small pavilion. But the most exciting news of all is that because of this act of love and compassion, many souls have found new life in Christ through the good works shining through ICII. ICII has been working to rebuild these huts in three villages. In the village of Peryapalla-paddi, where Udaiyammal (the woman with leprosy) resides, the Lord has used loving sponsors to enable ICII to replace every hut that had been destroyed. Sixteen huts have been built for families in this village alone who had lost everything.

Each week, ICII has a Bible study at Peryapalla-paddi, and some of the new believers are also attending church. It is very hard for many of the people to come to church because of distance and poverty, so ICII has a vision to build a church near this village in the near future so many more can attend worship. Residents of other near-by villages could attend there as well. God is moving in this village of hundreds of residents.

One man named Alagar, for whose family ICII built a hut, shared to Pastor Britto and Kathy; "I don't have anyone. My kids don't care about me. When I die will you please bury my body for me. You are an expression of Jesus on the earth". Alagar has also become a strong believer in Christ. Each week he attends church and the Bible studies, carrying his Bible with him. The Lord has worked the gift of salvation in his heart.

One grandfather from Peryapalla-paddi shared this to his hut sponsor: "After the flood, my hut was destroyed and I didn't have any place to stay. I was staying in a public school and my wife was staying in the rice mill in our village. My kids and grandkids went to some relatives to stay on the porch of their house. It is so nice again to have a hut for our family. Two days ago we were told we could no longer stay in the public places. So we are giving our thanks to you. God is so graceful in my family. God sent you to help me. In my whole life I will never forget you. I will remember your help. I am giving thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ because he opened the door through you. I am praying for you that God will bless you. God has surely blessed us. With our whole hearts we are praying for you to have a prosperous life".
