Raj receives a flower garland around his neck from ICII before the leprosy church to honor him and welcome him.

|
Raj enthusiastically declared to us, "A little more time here, and I'll be running and jumping." Noah, however, was still concerned, because he had seen three more leprosy patients still at the hospital that were also in desperate condition, due to lack of care. He went again to the hospital to bring them to the community as well. The hospital staff supposed he had come to tell them Raj had died. But instead, he shared how Raj had improved so much, and that he had come to take three more leprosy patients there as well. But inexplicably, the head doctor refused to allow these patients to leave. |
|
Pastor Britto also went there and talked at length with the doctor, but to no avail. He found that there were nine leprosy patients in all still in that unsanitary place without any love or care, whom the doctor refuses to release. ICII suspects that the hospital may lose some government funding if these last leprosy patients are released. To prevent them from starving, ICII team members have been taking food into the hospital for them when the doctor is out, trying to help them survive until we find a way to rescue them. These leprosy friends at the hospital are very happy for the love and care and the extra food they are receiving. It is a blessing to them to know that someone cares. Please pray that God will open a way to bring these Leprosy Friends to the community where they can have wholesome food, medical care, and a place they can stay where they will be loved and cared for.

Raj Receives Another Chance At Life - After a life of 75 years of suffering and despair, Raj now has something to live for. He now has three healthy meals and water a day, medical care, and other personal needs met. Best of all, Raj has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior! Raj was indeed very fortunate that Noah found him in time. Other victims of leprosy have not been this fortunate; in the past, others have died slow and agonizing deaths. We now have nine leprosy victims living on the land and we are out of rooms. The "Joshua School" mission team has graciously provided a pavilion, which we erected for our church service, so some of them will temporarily be sleeping under this roof until homes are built. For now until the homes are built, these people will not mind sleeping outside for a short time, but they will be glad to have good food and medical attention, and most of all love. We must erect a real building as soon as possible before it starts to rain. ICII urgently needs people who would like to sponsor a leprosy friend such as Raj. If you cannot commit to a monthly sponsorship right now, please consider giving a gift of any amount so victims such as Raj can have their needs provided for until sponsors are found.
Praise Report! ICII's Native Missionaries Receive New Motorcycles - One of the biggest challenges for ICII in reaching the remote villages with the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been good transportation for our native missionaries. Up until now, our team members were mostly limited to buying bus tickets, walking, or some, riding bicycle. This spring, the Lord provided eight motorbikes and two motor scooters for our gospel teams.

The Lord laid it on the heart of a caring ministry supporter to join together with us in reaching the villages by buying vehicles for the teams. With these motorbikes, the teams can travel easily, two or three team members riding together. It will save lots of valuable time and greatly multiply the number of souls they can reach with the precious Gospel. Ten megaphones have also been provided for each ministry team from this same caring sponsor. These megaphones will amplify the preacher's voices so a whole village can hear the Gospel! We give our heartfelt thanks to our dear ministry partner for making this selfless pledge to further the Lord's work in India with these much needed Gospel tools.

Pastor Britto standing with his leprosy church. In April, each leper attending got a piece of clothing. The women received saris and the men dhotis (Indian skirts for men). They all were very glad to receive new clothes because they are all very poor and some may not even own any clothes besides those they are already wearing.
