Sharing The Gospel Through Films

Reaching The
Remote Villages

God is preparing the hearts of the people in many remote villages to hear His Gospel. Independent Church In India’s main burden is to reach those who have never heard His glorious Gospel. They have a goal to reach over eight hundred villages by the end of this year. Two main ways that the Lord is using the Gospel teams are showing Gospel films and personal evangelism.

Loud shouts of joy are heard among the remote village children who come to meet Independent Church In India’s Gospel team as they pull up in their van prepared to show the Jesus film. During the months of August and September, Independent Church In India showed the Jesus film to fifteen different villages. A worker from Campus Crusade For Christ came to work with Independent Church to show the film to the villages. The films are a very effective way to reach most of the village people at one time.

Anywhere from fifty to one hundred or more men, women, and children will gather to watch the film. After a long day of hard work in the tropical heat, the village people think of a movie as a special event. Many people begin to weep as they see the crucifixion of Christ and the Lord convicts them to feel sorrowful for their sins. After the film ends, the team follows up by sharing the Gospel. This allows God’s Word to sow seeds and convict hearts. Usually thirty people or more bow their heads to receive the Lord as their Savior each time the film is shown. After seeing the film, many people desire to learn more about Jesus and they ask for Bibles. Many people also ask for prayer for their physical needs as well.

In India, over three hundred million deities are worshipped. One strong Hindu village leader said, after seeing the film , “This was the only God that suffered for the people’s sins. I have worshipped many gods, but none of them died on the cross for the people’s sins”.
