Tailoring School Update

Independent Church In India started their first tailoring school for needy widows
and teenage orphans in September running through the month of November. God used this tailoring school to touch so many despairing women’s lives with the hope of the Lord Jesus Christ, that they decided to start a second course for those women that began coming towards the end of November. Many of these new women that are attending have also given their lives to the Lord.

These women are very serious about following the Lord and are seeking to learn how to pray and how to get closer to Him. Six of these new believers were thrilled to perform the skit on the Christmas day service on the birth of Christ as a way to share with their relatives His truth. Shortly after this tailoring school started in December was the time that Pastor Richard got attacked and beaten. These women have learned quickly that following the Lord is not an easy road in their culture, but through this time they have also been touched by the forgiving and loving heart that Pastor Richard had towards those who have beat him.

One of these girls is Mala. Mala is eighteen years old and came to the Tailoring school with little hope in her life. She shared with Pastor Richard that there was poison in her house and she was planning to take it because she couldn’t find any peace in her life. Pastor Richard shared with her the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Lord touched her heart that same day and she accepted Christ and changed her mind about committing suicide. A few days after Mala gave her life to Christ, Pastor Richard got beaten by those opposed to the Gospel for his faith. She said that after she had seen that type of Christian love and forgiveness she also went home that same night and forgave those toward whom she had unforgiveness from her past.

Independent Church in India is planning to keep running these tailoring schools as long as the Lord provides the needs. Each day these women will continue to hear an hour of Bible teaching.

Children’s Revival Rally

Independent Church In India had a children’s revival rally at their Vadipatti Church in the month of November. The children that they picked up were from a village called Mataparai that they had recently reached with the Gospel. In the past, this village had not allowed them to even enter to share the good news of the Gospel. But now, God has opened the door in this village and is doing mighty things, even among the children.

These children are praying before their Sunday school lesson doing the time of children's church at the Vadipatti church.

These children from Mataparai are hungry to hear the Word of God. Due to only having a small van, the Pastors were only able to pick up twenty-five children this last rally. But God moved even in this small gathering of children. Here the children were taught God’s Word and shown a film on the Prodigal son. After asking the children for feedback on what they had learned at the rally, one boy shared, “after I seen this film I will obey my parents from now on”. Many of the others pleaded; “please have more of these rallies for us, and we will bring many of our friends”.

"After I seen this film I will obey my parents from now on".
