Mukilan's Testimony
From Bondage to Freedom...
My name is Mukilan. I am an artist. In the past, I have drawn many paintings of idols and other obscene artwork. After I finished my 12th grade studies, I desperately wanted to go to college, but my family was too poor to send me. So instead of going to college, I got sent to take care of the goats in the hot fields. I knew a few things about Jesus, but I still chose to worship idols. Many times I thought God was not real, because if He is real then I wondered, why do I have this starvation in my family and in my life?

Before Mukilan came to know Christ as his Savior he drew many pictures of the gods he worshipped.

Mukilan lies alone on the alter of an idol worship site. Many times he was desperate to commit suicide because he had no fulfillment in his life.
|

My family and I have gone through many hardships; both money problems and sicknesses. I often felt utterly sad and sorrowful. I would often wonder; why must I go through very hard situations in my young age? I felt no peace or joy in my life and I also considered committing suicide. But one day God gave me a divine appointment to get a job at an artist company. The man I worked with named Tamilian went to Independent Church In India. Pastor Richard and Pastor Britto from Independent Church came to the shop many times where I worked and I heard them share about the Lord.

Soon after this, the pastor's came to my house to pray for me and shared the love of Jesus with me. This is the time that I made a decision to accept Jesus Christ into my life. I then started to go to the prayer meetings and I got a lot of peace in my heart from the Lord.
Shortly after this, a tumor began growing on the left side of my face until it was very large. I didn’t have any money, so my parents borrowed money for me for the medical expenses, but it still did not recover, and I suffered with lots of terrible pain.

My friend Tamilian then took me to Pastor Richard’s house and he laid his hands upon my neck and began praying for my tumor to be healed. At that moment I felt the pain begin to go, and I felt that I was being healed of the tumor! Two days later, I got total deliverance and healing from the tumor! Shortly after this, I got a terrible high fever. I prayed to the Lord and got totally healed again! That day I committed my life completely to serve Jesus.
I have been learning so much from the pastors of Independent Church In India about the Lord. One day, I prayed that the Lord would provide for me one more shirt, because I only had one shirt to wear day after day. But God miraculously provided two shirts for me! I then asked the Lord for shoes, and the Lord soon provided the shoes. Everytime my family or I are facing a sickness or sorrow in our lives, I am praying for them and God is healing them.

God is giving me lots of strength and hope. I am so glad to be a child of God and I trust the Lord with my whole heart. I know that the Lord will provide for my families needs and give my family the joy. Now my one desire and prayer is to be faithful and serve the Lord the rest of my life. I thank God that He has given me the faith and the strength to follow Him. My main heart's desire now is to share the Gospel with my friends, and to all the people. Since my salvation, my sister and my parents have also accepted the Lord. I am so thankful for this soul-winning burden in my heart.
