Many of these children have heard the Gospel for the first time and are asking Jesus to be their Savior.
For the past nine years, Independent Church In India has been preaching the Gospel to the hundreds of villages around the area of Vadipatti. While continuing to run their main church, a tailoring school, and Bible study cell groups at Vadipatti they also have a leading and burden of the Lord to start a new Church towards the north. In this new area, there are about five hundred villages.
Many of these villagers are living in chains of bondage and utter darkness, due to long years of idol worship. Most of them have never heard the Gospel. The new area is in desperate need of a Bible-believing church to praise and worship the Lord freely. The Pastor’s have spent lots of time in search of a building to start this new church and have prayed diligently that the Lord would provide a place near the bus stand. The Lord has answered the prayer and they have found a room for rent on the third floor right next to a bus stand! The Hindu landlord who rented the building to them shared: “We feel that God had provided this building for your services because before we couldn’t rent to any others. We are in debt now, but since we have rented this to you we feel that God will bless us”.
Reaching the Villages With the Good News...
Starting in January, the Gospel team began in this new area to distribute Gospel tracts and to share the Gospel by personal evangelism to all those who are willing to hear. One day, Pastor Britto and his team gave their tract called “Mankind’s Most Important Questions” to a man who was ready to receive the word of God.

A few hours later, after reading the tract, the man came searching for the team in a village nearby to tell them how powerfully the tract had touched him. The man shared with rejoicing, “This tract has touched my heart. I felt God convicting me as I read the tract to commit my life to Him. I have already said the sinner’s prayer over and over again with conviction in my heart. Please write more tracts like this to share with us, because I have never read tracts like this before. I will come to your church when you begin your services”.

In one village, The Lord reaped a mighty harvest of over twenty souls one evening. Independent Church In India’s team and missionary Kathy Smith shared the Gospel many times to small groups within the village. Many of the people’s faces were filled with conviction as they heard how Jesus had died for them. In every group, one or more of the people shared with joy how happy they were to see the team and hear about the Lord Jesus. The people also invited the team to come over and over again to have Bible studies with them so they can grow in the Lord.
In the the same village, a woman named Sawriarrokkiem invited Pastor Britto and Kathy to her house to share the Gospel with her family. Sawriarrokkiem shared with joy; “just last night I prayed that God would send some servants of His to me and my family because we have been very sick. I am so thankful that God answered my desperate prayer so quickly!”. Sawriarrokkiem’s whole family received the Lord with joy!
