Touching Lives Though
the Tailoring School
God has been using the tailoring school to touch many lives and bring them from darkness to light. Since last September, many needy women, widows and teenage orphans have been coming so that they can learn a trade to provide for themselves. Every day, the Bible is taught for an hour. The girls are continuing to develop a personal relationship with the Lord and learn His Word.

God has transformed one young lady named Kavitha by the power of His word. Kavitha had very little hope in her life. She is very poor and her husband had abandoned her. Each day, Kavitha came to the tailoring school and the Bible classes. During this short period of time, the Lord began working in her heart and she committed her life to the Lord. Kavitha is also attending the Vadipatti church regulary now and, just a few weeks after receiving prayer, her husband has also come back to her.
God is already using her as she encouraged the rest of the church with her testimony: “At first I came to the tailoring school only to learn how to sew, but now I am also coming to learn more about the Lord. Because of coming here I now have peace and comfort in my life. God is answering my prayers and giving joy in my life. If I would not have gone to this tailoring school, I would have missed knowing the Lord".

Pastor Britto and Kathy sharing
the Gospel at Thottanuthu.
One day, by the Lord’s leading, missionary Kathy Smith and Independent Church In India’s Gospel team entered a very large village called Thottanuthu. A man from this same village began talking with them right after they came, and he shared with them that they had come to the right village. “Here, in my village, the people’s hearts are open to hear about Jesus because we have no one to lead us. If you do ministry here you can reach lots of people because the people are longing to hear the good news about Jesus”.
The man was right, because that day the Lord touched many lives with His Gospel. Many different groups, large and small, gathered together to hear the good news. That evening, a few hundred men, women and children heard the Gospel and the Lord saved over 25 adults and around 20 children. When darkness fell in the village, a man who had been constantly watching the team from a distance finally approached the team before they left and was desperate to hear how he could have this forgiveness of Jesus and peace in His life. This man also willingly committed His life to the Lord.
