Perummal's Testimony:
A Hindu Priest Finds A New Life In Jesus...

Pastor Britto and Kathy sharing the
Gospel at Perummal's village.

One day, Independent Church In India's (ICII) Gospel team visited a small village named Annaipatti. In this village stood at least three Hindu idol temples. After team members Pastor Britto and United States missionary Kathy Smith shared the Gospel with a group of adults and lots of children, many who heard the good news made a commitment to accept the Lord.

One of these men was a Hindu priest named Perummal. Afterwards, Perummal led the Gospel team to his sister-in-law's house for prayer.

He began sharing with tears that he had lots of problems in his life and even though he was a Hindu priest who blessed others, he never himself got any blessing or peace in his own life.He told them that his body was too weak even to work, and provide for his family, so his wife Eeshwari had to go to Kerala (another state in India) for the last four months to find work.

He told the team that Eeshwari had accepted the Lord and had gotten baptized while she was at Kerala. While he was sharing these things, a Christian man named Rajendren came running to the team from a nearby village. Rajendren shared that someone ran to his village to tell him that there was a foreigner who was preaching the Gospel in Annaipatti, so he quickly came to ask for prayer. Rajandren testified that he was looking for a church to attend, so he could grow in his Christian walk.

A Hindu priest named Perummal accepts Jesus into his heart after hearing the Gospel.

Rajandren also invited the Gospel team to come to his village named Puliyamarathupatti. A few days later, the Gospel team went to visit Rajandren and he led the team around his village so they could share the Gospel and pray for people. Since then, both Perummal and Rajendren have been coming to the main church and have been bringing others with them. They both claim that they are now feeling peace in their lives. Since they received prayer, the Lord has touched them with His freedom..
