During the month of May, Independent Church In India had a free music school for those who wanted to learn how to play guitar or keyboards, or for those who just wanted to learn how to worship the Lord more. Pastor Britto and US missionary Lowell Smith headed up the school. The classes were from 10 to 12 o'clock every day.
|
|
The goal for this music school was twofold; to reach out to those who were not Christians, and to also equip the saints to fulfill the will of God in their lives. Each day, ten to twenty youths came. During the school, ten youths accepted the Lord into their lives, and another four committed to go out with the team to help share the Gospel.
|
Spoken English School
Also in the month of May, Pastor Richard held another spoken English class. The goals for this school was to lead these youths to the Lord. Each day, Pastor Richard taught the students a Bible verse in English. Around fifteen to twenty-five youth students came each day. Eight of these youths committed their lives to the Lord. The students all appreciated the classes very much, and on the last day Pastor Richard took them on a day trip to have a picnic and fellowship with one another.

Pastor's Seminar
Pastor Richard conducted a Pastor's Seminar in the month of June to equip and encourage poor pastors. Around sixty pastors came to the meeting, some bringing their families. Most of the pastors are struggling, and must find another job on the side to provide for their families, thus taking time away from their ministry to others. Independent Church has a burden and desire of the Lord to help equip these pastors with both ministry and personal supplies to help them to reach more souls with the Gospel, and to make life easier for them.
|
Some of the supplies ICII would like to provide for the poor pastor's are:
Bikes
Gospel Tracts
Bibles
Backpacks to carry ministry supplies
Umbrellas
Rice
|
The pastors were deeply encouraged and left the seminar with a greater desire to serve the Lord.

Gospel Seminar
In the month of May, Independent Church In India held a seminar to equip the saints on how to share their faith in a more effective way. Twenty-eight came, and most thought the seminar was very useful on how to share the Gospel, and encourage them to be bolder in their witnessing to the lost. Directly after the seminar, ICII took most of those who attended out to do personal evangelism in the city. Many came back with testimonies, and around twenty-five people had accepted the Lord through them.

The Gospel seminar was held
inside the new church.
|
|
| An older Christian man shared how he had learned a much more effective way to share the Gospel. He said, "In the past, I would only pass out Gospel tracts, because I was to uncomfortable how to share. But today, after learning at this seminar how to share about Jesus more effectively, the people I approached listened to what I had to say, and four committed their lives to the Lord". |
