MOVED WITH COMPASSION FOR THE LEPERS - (Continued)

Many of these lepers are in terrible situations; they have no home to go to after their hospital stay. Most of them will live on the streets, possessing only the old clothing that they are wearing. They will beg, hoping just that someone will have mercy on them to give them a few coins so they can eat their next meal.

One man shared to the Gospel team with tears, "After my wife died, my two sons chased me out of the house, because I have leprosy". Another man related sadly, "My wife and son have both forsaken me because of this disease". These lepers are all desperately wondering where they will stay after their time is up at the hospital. Pastor Britto shares, "Every week after I visit them, I can't even eat afterwards, because seeing them breaks my heart. I am crying to the Lord to provide for them a good home and food. But, most of all, that they will realize someone cares about them. Every time we visit them, we are sharing how much God loves them and is caring about them. They are longing to have the real love, and caring people in their lives".

There is hope in Jesus for those lepers who have given up on hope.

These lepers greatly appreciate that someone does care about them and they have shared their hearts cry with the Gospel team, "Just namely we are staying here, but no one is caring about us, not even the doctors. But you are coming and showing the love of God and talking with us with the loving face". Around fifteen have received Jesus Christ into their lives with open hearts. They are asking the team to come to visit them often to pray for them.

Independent Church in India has a burden of the Lord to buy a piece of land and build small houses to allow the lepers a place to stay. We are praying to start our own leprosy colony to provide for their needs, teach them spiritual truths, and to make sure they know that they are loved and cared for by Jesus Christ. Until the Lord provides for this vision, we are seeking people who will sponsor a "leprosy compassion pack". When we give them a "leprosy compassion pack", it will help them to have both physical and spiritual needs, and to let them know that someone really does care about them. As the Lord provides, we are seeking to share the Gospel and help as many lepers as possible in our surrounding area. We have a burden to fellowship with them and encourage them that Jesus wants to comfort them and heal their broken hearts...
